We held our first workshop for the community over the weekend at Our Tampines Hub. This was where members of the public could sign up for a free hands-on session to learn how to draw characters on the iPad. They will then have their characters made into button badges so they have something to remember the session by.

What was memorable for us was that it was the first time our tribe students were facilitating the sessions. They get to share with their peers what they learned in their previous lessons. And we got a few looks of surprises from parents who brought their kids in only to see that the ‘teachers’ were of the same age. We explained that this is what our tribe is about – building a positive, learning and sharing community.

We were also surprised by how enthusiastic our tribe students were to share They even refused breaks, instead volunteering to help each other when more participants streamed in.

Admittedly, it was along day but a very meaningful one when you get happy responses from both sides of the sharing table. If you would like to register your child for our next free session, click here
